Early mark

Anyone else get an early mark today ? Due to the rain myself and the other drivers got an early mark , only had to do a single run , as most businesses shutting early as a result. But the warehouse and office staff were told 1 pm , despite the announcements on the radio to allow people to leave before the predicted heavier rain is expected and there are further road closures.

I took the day off. As a courier with an open ute it was going to be a bad day for me anyway. Half an hour after telling work I wasn't available an announcement was made that all South East Queensland schools are shut for the day.
Had a little drive down to the local Coles, roads are bad. I'd hate to be working today.

Yep, we had some kids who still came in and had to be supervised. Got out of there about noon.
Lot of water at home but we're fine. Not good for the 4WD camping show starting Friday though. Feel for the exhibitors.

Getting very windy now here in Brissie. Just had to tie down a shade sail which was breaking away. Reports of typhoons on the Sunshine Coast.

Actually the poor buggers have had a bad run this year, the local caravan and 4x4 expo(Kembla grange/Wollongong) had massive rain and then heavy hail so most of the vans got some damage, some of those same exhibits will be heading north for another wash out!

yes I had a 2hr early mark.

our operations manager reckoned we had had enough stress from the general public today.

I accepted graciously.

Today was hurry up and look busy . More would have been done if the knock off was set an hour earlier, as recognition of missed breaks and effort in the past .
