Bought a battery driven arborist chainsaw, and whipper snipper. Tried them out, do the job well. Two batteries, slow battery charger, [ can use the lecky thingamajig on the ARK power battery to charge on the road] The upgrade of the Veggy garden to the 21st century is under way. Found a great website , aboutthegarden.com.au, can't wait to get into it. Made a new friend in the dealership when I got home and found he forgot to charge me for the battery charger [ boom boom] and went in today to pay for it. Scored a cap & stubbie holder, and a promise of any assistance needed, in the future. LG.

I'm wishing I'd gone electric when I bought a Still chainsaw last year.

What I like is the batteries are made in Germany, the charger in Slovakia, to a German design, the chain and chain bar for the saw are made in the USA, in the whipper snipper the head where the plastic wire goes is made in the USA. It is so simple to renew the wire, just cut 1.5 metres off, stick each end in 1/4 inch, then wind the head. Job Done. The saw is an arborist saw, which means it is not designed to cut huge logs,and has a top handle instead of a rear one. Light and manoeuvrable, I can fit it in to the D2 when travelling west, and cut off the odd gidyea branch for pen making. Or leopard wood, she oak etc.. I've decided it's time to get serious with my garden, and get back into woodturning. Life's too short . A lot of good gardening info here;

Thought the same myself ........................ until I priced it all out. Small battery powered saw plus charger plus spare battery came to well over $1K. :o so decided to give it a miss.

Just spent two hours on the Stihl cutting up fallen branches. Now have timber stacked to dry - and two blunt chains.
Once my little Stihl is going it's a good thing, but mucking around with fuel is annoying.

Special on at the moment. Arborist saw, whipper snipper, two batteries , charger, chain oil, spare 2mm plastic, just over $1000.2 years warranty on the batteries & charger. Well made, you get what you pay for.
