Just wonrdering if anyone is towing a Number 5 army trailer behind a D3 or D4?
I want to keep the pintle ring on the trailer so it will mean fitting a hitch receiver with a pintle hook to the Disco, but thought I'd ask of others how it might go.

That's what I do Jeepster (except that mine is an engineering trailer). The D4 I just purchased came with the OE tow bar which means the trailer sits low at the tow point. I have a Mitch Hitch on order which I expect will level it all out OK. I will need to shorten the bar that the pintle is attached to and drill a new pin hole.

This is what im using on my series...https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2017/04/795.jpg
I need to re drill the hole closer to the hitch so it doesnt stick out too far.

That is what I had on my J**p - sorry I sold it now (the receiver, not the J**p!).

Yep, looks good.
Height adjustable until the top of the pintle hits the back tailgate when it is down!
Thats similar to what I had on my J##p and the upper limit was dictated by the bottom of the side opening rear door.

I have the same dilemma. What are you doing about the NATO plug?

Just get two light assys on a board and a plug to suit ur vehicle. Hang board on rear of trailer, plug into back of vehicle....easy peasy...

As I'll be selling my Perentie, I doubt I'll need the 12 pin plug any longer so will probably do a rewire.
If I find a female 12 pin plug, I'll look at making an adapter.

A socket is pretty expensive.
But I'd like to keep the trailer original. Maybe I'll just replace the white plug on the L322.

Ta Rod, that's a good cheap option. Cheaper than a NATO socket. And easier.
