2003 V8 petrol L322, hunts on idle when cold.

Hi There,
V8 petrol, 2003, engine is a smooth as when warm, no knocks or rattles, done 209,000. Only on idle when starting from cold the engine seems to hunt, about five minutes later when "slightly" warm engine is as smooth as silk.

Recently purchased I haven't serviced the engine as yet, bit of a project this one, no real rush. the air filter doesn't look the best, I have cleaned the MAF sensor doesn't seem to have made much difference.

Any ideas?

Hi Chaybra, found a split hose on top of the engine so hopefully that's it. Haven't test run yet still doing the R/C gaskets. Cheers Marty
