Hi guys
I have a electronic problem or 2 I need info on please.
1. Got down to Albany newyears eve, after our first stop I was in a carpark in 2nd gear, the revs were less than 1000 and she reved to about 4000 as she lurched forward I clutched and braked to avoid rocketing into the next car,the revs returned to normal,it hasnt happened since.I thought I may of hit the resume button on the cruise as the dash button was still on or active as they say.But in later testing found that the set speed is deleted after a re-start,which it had recieved ealier.
2. Maybe related????? I have an intermittent SRS light on the dash, first time it came on I went around a roundabout then there was a speedhump,it stayed on till restatring the car.Didnt come on the next day at all, including off-roading.Has been on and off all by its own accord, usually clears with a restart the indicator works correctly,ie shows then extinguishes on startup, then promptly returns if its in the mood.Leave the ignition off for 30 mins and all seems OK.
Where do I check before going to a stealer????All info appreciated.

Hi LandyAndy, I had a similar problem in my D1.

I use to live at Bargo and on a number of occasions, when travelling north on the freeway, as I drove passed the service station at Bargo, the disco would accelerate while in cruise mode.

I never resolved the problem and it never did it anywhere else.

As for the SRS, I don’t know if their related but, again in my D1, I had continuing problems where while driving on rough roads the hazards would come on and all the doors would unlock. Same as you, I had to stop turn the ignition off and wait for the hazards to reset then away I’d go again.

I had the module responsible for this operation replaced under warranty but it still persisted.

In the end, I pulled the module out and removed the motion sensor, problem solved.

I have had the same problem in my 02 disco...SRS light comes on for no good reason and will only go off after a restart. Although, this has not always been the case. Twice it has taken several restarts to get the light to go off but I have not had this SRS light trouble for over 6 months now. Come to think of it, it has only ever happened on long trips, when the disco has been on the move for several hours straight.

Don't have suggestion about the random rev increase other than BB didn't like the car in front. Volvo ?

With the SRS, the speed hump after the roundabout perhaps to the sensors seemed like a crash. If you can find the sensors on the front of the vehicle and just make sure they are still attached and not loose. Maybe sending mixed signals to the computer and subsequently giving a flickering indication.
