Hi,
I have just recently acquired a SWB series 3 unfinished project. I will post some pic up soon.

There is a few things to do overall to it. Such as a bit of rust repair work and re-assemble 186 Holden engine and fit it.

I do have one question straight of the bat. Everything appears to be there to put the 186 back together except the spigot bush for the the Holden crank.

Does anyone know where I can purchase one?

As for the rust it's mainly in the door tops and a little bit in the rear chassis. It looks to be fixable at this stage. Just looking at getting it going first then will attack the other jobs later.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Four Wheel Drives in Melbourne used to keep them, their part number C18B. Since they changed ownership I'm not sure if they will still stock them.

Four Wheel Drives – Land Rover Spare Parts Specialists (http://www.forwardspares.com.au/)

Alternatively with the OD, ID & depth you might be able to get one from a bearing supplier.

Thanks Tim

Here's a few pics of the 88. It was under a mango tree for a few years. Mostly surface rust except for the door tops, peddle box are and the rear chassis. It still needs a good gerny. So a bit more rust might show up yet.

The 88 was originally a diesel and was purchased for the engine. The person I purchased it off (for a carton of beer :) ) gave it to his son to put a 186 Holden motor in it. The son got as far as getting almost all the parts required to do the conversion then lost interest. Now its up to me to finish the job.

When you get round to painting the colour is Spanish Olive.

My Series III shorty is the same colour, managed to get some mixed a while back.

Spanish Olive paint code (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/series-iii/176610-spanish-olive-paint-code.html)

The door tops are a consumable item. Normally easier to replace than try to repair.

Best of luck.

I wasn't sure about the door tops. Thanks for the heads up. Do you know if the channel on the bottom of the door is available in Australia. I can only find a reference for Paddock Spares. Cheers

Not sure exactly which part you mean.
There are repair sections for the bottom of the doors and replacement channels for the windows to run in. Both will be available 'locally' from your nearest Land Rover supplier as well as from the UK.
