Thinks we are all in correct.

I was pulled up by an "older" bloke in Cooma, with lotsa LRs. In fact Poms came out and took all of his firewalls.

Anyway, he said "No you don't have a Series 1, you have a Land Rover! There wasn't a Series 1. There was a Series 2 but not a Series 1. They are, were, just Land Rovers!"

So, we here have only Land Rovers. All the rest have something else :BigThumb::Rolling:

Cheers

'Took' or 'purchased' all his firewalls ?

I thought it was common knowledge that it was just the 'Land Rover' initially e.g. The Land Rover History: Series I (http://www.winwaed.com/landy/history/series1.php)

Thing is if you say you drive a 'Land Rover' some people assume you have a Disco, or the younger generation probably think you have an Evoque.

As Gromit says, Landrovers were just 'Landrovers', until 1958, when the Series 2 was introduced, and previous Landrovers were retrospectively designated 'Series 1" to distinguish them from the new Series 2.

In fact, if you look back to the changes between the first Landrovers in 1948 and the last 'Series 1' in 958, there were probably more, and more significant changes than between Series 1 and Series 2. For that matter, there were more changes during Series 2a production, or during Series 3 production, than between Series 2 and 2a or between 2a and 3. In this sense, the different Series designations make little sense!
