Another wheel supplier
Maybe worth considering a group buy.

Essentially - the AULRO community boycotted this supplier when it was found they had taken Llams I.P and were making and selling their own version.
Hence why you dont tend to see those wheels on here.
Also keep in mind - Cleaning [wink11]
And landed cost essentially is the same as the other alternate.

Whilst I appreciate the support, if they have a good product then please don't hesitate to consider it. Anyway, their height controller isn't as good as mine.

Have they been FEA tested for critical failure like the Compomotives?
Their site says 'lab tested to exceed LR spec' what does this mean?
Their statement of "..internal machining.." to clear the LR calipers would concern me unless FEA (finite element analysis) has been done to assess any material weaknesses introduced by the machining process (which was likely done post-manufacturing)
Just sayin ..

I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder ..................... but at least in my opinion, they look like ****. [wink11]

There is some truth in this.

Compo's are on my wish list.

Personally I like them a lot.
They also come in a silver version. I am not aware of any bad feedback.
In UK prospeed used to sell them. Then it changed for Compomotive.
The major problem is that they are quite pricey.
Anyway they are on my list.
I can't judge about the ANITAS issue I.e. Stolen idea from the mate on this forum. I would otherwise think that they make some decent products.

Nic

Personally I reckon a set of these would look much better on a Disco .................... but unfortunately they don't quite fit, even though they are the same stud pattern. Disco wheels will fit onto an Amarok, but not the other way round. Bugga. [bawl]

If you could get these rims to suit the Disco, I'd have a set by now. IMO much better looking than anything else I've seen, either OEM or after-market (except maybe for a set of black rims on a white D4 that is known to be lurking around South Australia somewhere). [wink11]

BM. What's the offset on those wheels?

BM. What's the offset on those wheels?
They are 17 x 8.5 with +20 offset.
But they do make them in a range of sizes / offsets. Look up "Fuel Vector". [wink11]

Just out of curiosity, has anyone contacted Simmons Wheels about making a wheel for the D4 with the larger brakes?
Welcome to Simmons Wheels Australia (http://www.simmonswheels.com.au)
I has a set of these wheels many years ago on a car I owned at the time.

Not Simmons: but I have made enquiries into design and tooling for a suitable wheel.
At this stage it's on the back burner as the outlay is significant... very significant....

You can't go past Compomotive for their quality and Motorsport heritage. They are a seriously good rim. Unfortunately the style that's been made for the D4 isn't exactly to my taste. You're unlikely to get a cheaper rim for such a small market

And that is why the wheel design I was working on fits Amarok as well [emoji41]

Simmons wheels website list wheels compatible with a D4. I am suspecting they maybe for the model with the smaller front brakes.
Anyway, thought i would raise it, incase anyone is interested in their design.

Is the PC site different? Can not see anything stating vehicle compatibility?

I did a wheel compatibility search on the Tempe Tyre website and the Simmons wheels came up. On the Simmons Wheels site, they list wheels they can make with PCD the same as the D4 wheels and with a custom Offset.
They show a few Land Rovers and Rangies in the Gallery with varying wheels and sizes. Note: most with larger wheels [bighmmm]
Mag Wheels, Alloys, Rims | Tempe Tyres (http://www.tempetyres.com.au/wheels)
I think the Tempe Tyres and Simmons Wheels maybe one in the same.

I had a set of Simmons FR 19" on a previous vehicle too....Close to $1000 a wheel though which is why i thought the Compomotives are cheap in comparison. Did see one Simmons wheel price listed at $1500ea...

The last time I asked Sam about the Simmons wheel range load rating, he said a suitable one will be coming out real soon.
I don't think a lot of these volume wheel/tyre shops care about load rating, offset, etc.
