Lubricating door hinges

Do you need to and how to? Mine seem fine after 10 years but I can't understand how they don't need a lube from time to time.

I've applied white grease to the plastic guides on mine. What it matter I'm not sure. I have no idea what's actually required. Nothing seems to be done by dealer services.

I've always just put a few drops of 3 in 1 oil on all my car door hinges. Any excess gets wiped off.
Seems to do the job OK.
