Speedo troubles.

Hey guys,

Another quick question, as I had a strange thing happen on the way to work this morning.

My speedo just stopped working and just registered 0. Ocassionally it would jump up but then sit at 0 again.
After about 10 mins of this, it jumped back up to speed and worked fine the rest of the trip.

Anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this.??? :?

I'm guessing the the Disco has a drive cable from the Transfer Case to the back of the dash where it connects to the speedo drag cup assy...or is it electronic.????

Any help would be appreciated...I'm still trying to work out all the little gremlins from the car. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

From about mid. 94 Disco has electronic speedo, prior to that cable.
Could be loose connection on sender unit

So where is the sender unit located.????
Is it on the Transfer case.??

the speedo modulator is on the left hand side of the transfer box between the transfer & trans brake, little black thing with 2 wires going to it, takes about 10 mins to change, it cost about $140 from LR

Whatever happened to the good old days of replacing a $20 speedo cable.!!!?

Well hopefully it will just be a dirty/bad connector, and I can fix it up.
Maybe I can pull the transmitter unit and clean that up too....I'm sure it's probably full of dirt and crap.
