G'day fellas;
Im on the verge of buying an accessory long range fuel tank to supplement my Long Ranger 127 l replacement tank.
I would like to mount it under the left hand sill, so has anyone got recommendation for a left hand silltank? I'm just trying to distribute the weight around the vehicle. I want at least 60 litres. Ideally it will fill from the main tank, and not rely on transfer pumps.
If I have to go right side I will, but don't want a filler under the seat box.
Thanks for any advice re this.
Ken

Thanks Damo.
Ive been to his site and he has nothing relevant listed.
I also need it fitted in Cairns as The Expedition Center is almost 3000kms away!
Im thinking that TJM or Opposite Lock might sell relevant tanks, but I'm also seeking advice on people's experience with these tanks.
Thanks again.
Ken

No worries mate. I'm sure he could either freight it up or sort you out with some sort of plans.

I did some research on this a little while ago...did a spread sheet which is saved somewhere....

Shingleback poly tanks prompted me to research and I have settle on his tanks considering ARB are switching to poly going forward for all new vehicles hitting the market......although not in production yet.

Thanks Weeds, and yep, I was aware of Shinglebacks great looking 130 tanks, but as you said, nothing for the 110 yet.
I just want to move away from jerry cans on the roof rack on bigger trips.
Ta Weeds.

Google Long Range Automotive. They have a passenger side sill tank you can look at. A phone call to them will sort out your local distributor.

Cheers.

Have you considered the 35 litre tanks that can fit behind the rear wheel on the driver's side and gravity feed? Not a sill tank I know, but a proven solution

Hi Mick.
Im aware of those tanks, but it's not what I'm after.
I want the weight between the axels, as opposed to behind the rear wheels.
Thanks mate.

Perhaps this is what you are looking for, Landrover Defender 110 65L Auxiliary (https://longrangeautomotive.com.au/Landrover-Defender-110-65L-Auxiliary~253) I have both the RH and LH tanks fitted to my Puma, good quality tanks sure beats carrying around gerry cans.
They are a bugger to fit without a hoist but can be done.

Thanks Rob.
They are exactly what I'm after.
How did you go re fuel transfer to the main tank?
Have you any negatives re these?
Im not sure if I'll be able to eep my running boards if I fit them (TJM in Cairns can do it for me).
Thanks again Rob.

Another sill tank option.

Thanks Ken, and sorry the 110 tanks aren't ready yet and wish I could hurry them along! If you're in a hurry I can't help but I will have them ready by the end of the year, good luck.

Cheers, Andrew.

Thanks Andrew.
Id love to go with your product, as I believe there's also a substantial weight saving, but I may be doing the Canning in August with two other vehicles from the Cairns Land Rover club, hence my need for a solution sooner than later.
I will know by late June so if I don't do the trip, I may just hold off till your product is ready. I believe I'd be after both sides.
Best wishes Andrew.

I drove into Cairns and purchased a left (55l) and right (65l) sill tanks from Long Range Automotive, TJM. They will fit them. Have to come up to Cairns from Melbourne.
$3500 fitted, but no more Jerry cans for me.
This gives the Defender 230 litres fuel range, which is pretty good range and will suit the needs of the Canning. Includes fuel transfer pumps, and a new design where the filler is no longer in the drives seat box, it's in the little triangle panel next to the rear passenger doors.
Thanks for the tip Oz Rob and Weeds.
Pics to follow.
