View Full Version : Clutch Shudder

I have noticed that our defender is starting to develop a clutch shudder. By this I mean that when you take off in 1st, as the clutch is slipping while you build that first little bit of speed there is a distinct shudder. It seems to be just as you let the clutch out. Not all the time, but quite often.
Any ideas? :? :?
It may be un-related, but I think the slave cylinder has a slow leak. :? :?

The last time it was off road was 2nd week in December, and there was just dry sand involved. It wasn't particularly tough going.
The only other thing I can think of was I put the sprinkler under the car and left it there for a while to try and ensure that I got the salt off everything.
The shudder has only shown up in the last couple of weeks. It could be since the wash? :?: :?:

I'm only aware of 2 oil leaks... it possibly has a clutch slave cylinder leak, and the transfer case leaks too.
And yep, it sure is under warrantly so it looks like time for a trip to the stealers again. 8O
