Hello,I was wondering if anybody has changed the Head unit in the 2005 l322,Mine never had the Sat nav cd player in the back,so i was wondering what direction other people have taken?I have found a site called Brashes on Ebay that would suit, but looked kind of cheap.Has anybody else found anything better?I have found some old posts, but was wondering any recent finds?

I think there are quite a few of the new androiid head units that could be made to fit, it's the cutting and modifying of the existing Head unit that will be biggest job.

I haven't heard of anyone changing the head unit on a facelift L322 (late 2005).

What is your car's build date ? I have gone and viewed a couple of L322's advertised as 05 vehicles, only to find they are late build 04 delivered 05 cars [bigsad] I inspected one here in Canberra that was immaculate, but was a year older and 1 gear short of what I wanted [bawl]. I think some of the info on Carsales confuses some people when they lodge a sale notice; though some dealers aren't exempt from the ignorance of MY and delivery Date for a vehicle [bigwhistle][bigwhistle][bigwhistle]. If you could post a photo of your head unit it would be easier to comment and advise.

It's hard to tell from your external pics whether it's a facelift L322. I initially thought it was, as a pre-facelift model normally look like this.

But then I found on Carsales a pre-facelift model with this head unit.

I had a glance in the 02-05 Workshop Manual and couldn't see that head unit [bighmmm], but this is a link to a new thread on the Ffrr Forum.

fullfatrr.com - View topic - L322 Android headunit options (http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic42123.html)

The unit below is mentioned in the article and could be what your after.

Dynavin Range Rover L322 (2002-2004) with and without DSP Sat-Nav u... (https://www.car-vision.co.uk/landrange-rover-navi-dvd/664-dynavin-range-rover-l322-2002-2004-with-and-without-dsp-sat-nav-upgrade-land-range-rover-navi-dvd-5060431021178.html)

A Eonon GA6021 unit also gets a good mention.

Hey mate, I recently purchased this android headunit. Massive screen and uses latest android technology. Not sure about quality with these eBay units. Still not sure if I'm sold on the design, but it should arrive this week so will let you know.

Will be interesting to see it fitted, the binoclular front looks like it will stick out a bit from the dash, hope it doesn't foul on the dash pad. I was disappointed with the seller I bought mine from, it said for L322 , and when I wen t to fit it it needed lots of cutting and improvising to get it to sit into the bowels of the dash properly and look almost like a factory fit. This was not mentioned by the wonderful Chinese sellers.

Ps Just noticed you bought from the same Chinese seller as I did, they have a couple of different accounts names on ebay. I got mine a lot cheaper as I challenged them and asked why the other seller on ebay with the same dispatch address and location building and customer support was cheaper, shifty buggers.[wink11]

Mate I did the same thing haha. Didn't get a massive discount though. So what exactly did you need to cut? The dash itself (the leather) or the plastic that the head unit slides into? Which head unit did you buy?

Bought this one, the add is from a "different seller" In-Dash DVD Navigation System GPS Autoradio Head Unit for Range Rover 2003 2004 | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/In-Dash-DVD-Navigation-System-GPS-Autoradio-Head-Unit-for-Range-Rover-2003-2004-/330972826912?hash=item4d0f848d20:g:kDQAAOxyBC1R9j9 0)
unlike the pic in the ad, I did not have silver sides , mine butted up to the timber trim finishers in the sides.
I had to do a lot of surgery to the inner dash box, lots of cutting bits off, used sikaflex blobs to hold the radio in to the carcass. The only thing that Ihave found is the pic up mic isn't the best for the person you are phoning , they can't here me very well. GPS software on micro usb card supplied is iGo, but not the very latst version , so /i often get speed warnings that I am exceeding the 50kph limit whilst I am omn a neaw completed freeway doing 100KPH, I will pull it out one day ( that's not a quick j0b as you need to take dash pad out and undo fiddly to get to trim) But when I do, I will wire in a mic to the circuitry.

Can confirm. Replaced existing MID unit with an Android touchscreen, trans died shortly thereafter. Proof! [bigrolf]

The cheaper units are not bad, cant complain for the money, and I was mainly worried about it sticking out but its not bothered me so far for the few weeks I have had it in.
