View Full Version : Query on the Disco 3 S model, and NSW statutory warranties.

I'm looking at flying over to Sydney to look at a couple of Disco 3 S models.
I want the S as I want springs and shockers (so I can play later!), and I simply don't need the other bells and whistles.
However, the photos I've been sent of one of the cars has me confused.
Does this knob means air suspension, or terrain response or whatever?? I don't recall seeing it on other S models.

Also, what are the statutory warranty details for second had vehicles? One of the discos is a 2006 model.
I'm not after an aftermarket warranty, just want to know what warranty HAS to be offered to me.
Needless to say, both have service books, and I'm waiting to receive copies of them as I type this.

Yep, the two levers and the round dial mean this is a D3 S that was optioned up with air suspension and terrain response rather than the coils.

I have seen a few D3 S models with the upgrade around the traps, all of them autos though. Haven't seen any manuals, but I don't know if they did many, if at all.

Not sure on the used statutory warranty in NSW - the state you are buying in - but eligible vehicles in Vic are under 10 years of age and under 100,000 kms.

The statutory warranty may not be of much use to you flying from interstate - SA to Sydney? - to buy because my understanding is that if the vehicle qualifies for a used warranty and it develops a fault then it has to be returned to the selling dealer for repair. Not really practical if you live interstate from where you buy.

Yep, I've just confirmed that.
Looks like my ideas of springs/shocks might change! When I queries the EAS on the S model they confirmed it, and told me they have just traded a 116K SE 2006 auto which I could have for $500 more than the S model. So currently doing some back and forthing on the SE.
It is a Land Rover dealer in Castle Hill - I'm most impressed that they return calls on sundays!!!

Sorry, but there's no LR dealer in Castle Hill !!! Possibly another type of dealer with a traded disco.
