Well, we're really close to going with one of these. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
Has anyone had or heard of any problems at all with these? Any warranty, drivetrain... ETC?? :?: :?:
Thanks!

Greylandy had problems with his 2002 TD5 Defender, we had some but that was doing other mods which i have now changed, now have gone back to the first ECU upgrade with no problems now.
You will find that it will blow a bit more smoke, depending on which upgrade you have, i'd ask first if it will blow smoke.

Would you recomend doing it before or after exhaust/intercooler mods? (obviously all at once would be better again!)

I read that other thread. Thing is, it's not always clear what type of upgrade they have had and there seems to be a few. There also seems to be lots of problems. I'm not sure whether it's because people don't speak up if they don't have issues, or there are real problems with these upgrades.
MR have told me (and they are a trusted source) that they haven't had any trouble with conversions that have been done.
I spoke to a mechanic from one of the Brisbane LR dealers, and he said as long as you go for the basic upgrade, and don't go for the higher output upgrades they don't really care. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

Go to MR, give em $900, and as Hiline would say"vrooom". I,ve had it for a month or more, love every minute of it. With the fender it depended which make it was UK or S.A. build as to whether the chip could be flashed or ECU had to be replaced. Give MR a call with your vin no. Mate, you gotta do it.Fist upgrade was what they recomended as with the bigger intercooler its all up top of the rev range anyway.

I agree. My first impression on the flat when I picked it up was one of disappointment. However a blast up the range, and towing the caravan shows the increase in power very graphically. Give Ricks 4WD in Nerang a ring also. Very honest guy to deal with. He had BD detune the chip slightly to keep the exhaust temps down to 650 Deg C. Mine is 135Kw and 450Nm.
There are apparently gruntier ones out there, but Rick will not go there without exhaust mods, such as the "Vortex" system, which does lower the exhaust temps by up to 100 Deg C. He sent BD a pipe to play with and last news I recieved had the temp drop confirmed as real.

Yep, when I drove outa the place into traffic I thought "what, I payed $900 for this". The HP increase isnt that noticeable, its the torque, hills, overtaking etc.. Off the lights, nuthin changes, its as you go thru the gears where the fun starts, the turbo seems to be on boost more, you can hear it cuttin in.On long drives on the open road is where you'll say"I like it!!!!!"
