Hi fellas.
Id like to reflash my 2012 2.2 110 with aBAS 170 Stage Two map. I have an Alive Stage One 150 tune currently.
The truck has all the relevant engine and exhaust mods needed for this.
Is there any issues, or can the BAS module just over write the current map?
Iveemailed BAS but no reply as yet.
Thanks for any info on this.

g'day Ken

You will need to buy this:
BAS2 RRC Defender 2.2L TDCi 170BHP Autobiography – BAS Remaps, Powering the Landrover tuning world! (https://bellautoservices.co.uk/store/bas2-rrc-defender-2-2l-tdci-170bhp-autobiography/)

its a 15 min Job once you receive the kit and download the file etc.

It will be worth it in my opinion

Also you can put away the alive tune on the existing ecu in case like I have.

Many Thanks,
Punyalok

Thanks Punyalok;
Thats great to know. I saw the relevant module, but the Autobiography name threw me.
I think I'll just throw my hat in the ring and order it now.
Thanks again mate.

Can anyone confirm if these ECU flashes affect programmed functions like anti stall and the downhill idle up?

Dont know what downhill idle up is but anti stall is not affected

Hi D90.
Re the Turbo, Ill see how satisfied I am with the 170 tune.
I must admit, I'm very aware of the very small engine putting away in there. I don't want to risk longevity (too much!).

I didn't do the 150 tune. Went from stock to 170 and was wrapped with it and still am. Especially on road

According to the LR experience guys, it is an automatic version of downhill assist. youll find that your car should idle up when creeping forward (small increase to 850-900rpm) to provide maximum engine braking.

The BAS tunes don't effect the operation of anti-stall or idle jack

190 is not recommended with snorkel from memory so useless offroading, wouldn't mind a 90 for around town with 190 :D. Working on a justification for a second truck with SWMBO

Hi Baytown, Can you give an update on your thoughts between the Alive tune you had and the AB 170 BAS tune, really un decided which way to go [bighmmm]

Hi Danny.
Ive had the BAS 170 tune on the vehicle for a few months now, highway driving, a bit of town driving, and some very heavy off road trips.
I love it. I can’t remember what the vehicle was like without it but either way, it’s just a pleasure to drive with no issues.
Its no V8, but it feels so much more than a 2.2 in a heavy 4x4 as well.
I can tow my off road caravan at 100kms all day comfortably.
Id go with the BAS vs Alive, just for Pete’s after sales service and support. I contacted a Alive with a question and received no reply. Maybe a one off, but Pete was great.
Just do it!
Ken

Cheers Ken, Thank you for your quick reply I'm sold on BAS I just needed that extra reassurance. I like the thought that your actually receiving the OBD module and can switch between remaps if you want.

BAS previously offered a second spare ECU as part of a group buy deal... would anyone be interested in asking whether BAS would be able to offer this again? Means that you keep your original ECU with original factory tune as a spare. ...Not sure if BAS would be able to do this or not, but if enough AULRO members signed up to a group buy, you never know...?

BAS have an unlock patch and as I understand it you don't need a second ECU anymore as you can unlock your existing one, always a chance of bricking your ECU tho ...

Yes thanks filcar...with all the remote travel I do, I liked the idea of a spare ecu with standard tune as back up.

Wow. I've heard of all sorts of spares being carried but never a spare ECU.

It wouldn’t take up much room at all so no harm. But I don’t carry my spare....
