Hi all,
Time to pump everyone for information.
I saw this on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/LANDROVER-DISCOVERY...1QQcmdZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/LANDROVER-DISCOVERY-BULLBAR_W0QQitemZ4603696969QQcategoryZ102341QQrdZ1 QQcmdZViewItem)
and thought I might bid on it.
Before I do I thought I might seek some wise advice.
My disco is '97 and has SRS crash bags. Is this type of bullbar suitable without a new or modified bumper?
Will it simply bolt on?
I have fitted many bullbars to utes, but never a LR and never one with crash bags.
Any advice?

Regards
Ralph

it looks more like a nudge bar than a bull bar, mine has one on it, almost similar to the one you saw ( $1 ebay price not bad)
I've had a look at the way mine is mounted looks easy, I suppose providing you use the right bolts etc.( new ones rather than used) I would assume they have no adverse affect on the srs modules, otherewise they wouldn't sell them.

What JohnE said - but the ad says it is made in 1991 - so it would not have been designed to be SRS campatible. That is not to say that it is not OK but no Discovery had airbags in 1991.

might be worth getting the model number of the bar and put a call into TJM to see what the airbag requirements are on it... last thing you really want is to have problems with insurance 8)

As I understand it, insurance won't touch you if you have a prang with a bar no designed for airbags, so I'd be careful.

It definately looks like a nudge bar - no side protection for lights etc. And it's hard to hit those hopping things right in the middle of the vehicle 8O

Thanks for the advice guys.
Yes it's a nudge bar, I was just too lazy to spell it last night :?
I will do all the things you suggest and see how it flows.

Again thanks for the advice
