As title says will a discovery one carpet fit into a discovery 2. Searched but cant find answer.

Not 100% sure, but I think that the short answer is no. The seats mount quite differently, so I guess it will come down to how neat you want it to be. Everything else should be similar. I don't have both my cars here atm , so I can't look.

I don't think so either. We had a Disco 1 and when the Series 2 came out were given a free test drive in it. We saw that the body extends further back from the rear wheel arches (150mm or so) to give more cargo space. If the carpet is one piece it would be too short. I can't confirm this on line as the sites I've found give the same wheel bases and overall lengths for each model - which would only be true if they reduced the length forward of the cabin - and I'm pretty sure they didn't.
