Have searched the forum that only come up with the posts few years ago, anyone had upgraded the light recently? How much cost? Any issues to install? Can we buy from local rather U.K.?

Not sure about the eBay kit you linked Gary, that looks like something for a D3.
Also, you would need to put the headlight unit in the oven to open it up (heat the sealant).

Three options I know of, assuming you have the standard MY14+ halogen lights with DRL already activated:

1. Upgrade the DRL bulb only, which is the round light on a MY14+ halogen unit
I have done this and it was an improvement to the yellow halogen bulb. However, it did seem to get pretty hot even though the stated wattage was the same.
This mod does nothing for your headlight bulb, which on these are a single bulb with mechanical shutter for hi/lo beam functionality.

2. Upgrade headlight bulbs to aftermarket HID kit
Thread links below. Quite a few people have done this successfully:
D4 MY2014 Halogen Upgraded to HID (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/l319-discovery-3-and-4-a/209303-d4-my2014-halogen-upgraded-hid.html)
MY15 Disco 4 headlamp globes - what type? (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/l319-discovery-3-and-4-a/226786-my15-disco-4-headlamp-globes-what-type-2.html)
This upgrade gives much better headlights but doesn't change the DRL, for which you'd need Option 1 as well.

3. Change entire headlight unit to factory xenon
Thread link below, at least two of us have done this:
2014+ Facelift Xenon headlights/grill enroute (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/l319-discovery-3-and-4-a/239280-2014-facelift-xenon-headlights-grill-enroute.html)
It's the best option but obviously costs more. Budget for ~$2k new, unless you get lucky with sourcing lights secondhand or from a wreck.
You also need to update the CCF to activate xenon, which is simple if you have an iiD tool.

Cheers,
Scott

I suppose it is more cosmetic look rather than real need since I had both light bar and driving light cover in distinct.
