Strange one as it has never let me down over 5 years, but after recalibration with blocks and entering and saving the heights it stopped working and I received values in the rx field of 80 and 28 which research shows is a connection issue. Tried reconnecting as recommended but no go.

luckily I entered the heights and saved them so the heights are fine.

any ideas appreciated, would not want to head out of town with not functioning.

Given the issues you've had of late, I wouldn't put it past (and this is a common thing lately) the EAS Driver unit is on its way out... The reason I say this is that the EAS is behaving strangely for you sometimes.

Otherwise, I'm stumped as to your issue!

Hope it helps!

Cheers

Hi Paul, I am a newbie at this stuff so this may be off the mark but I had an issue with one of my laptop comms ports after a windows update that gave me comms issues. I changed ports and all is fine. Cheers Tim

Do you use a yellow relay, did you put the timer one back in?

I know it's a silly suggestion, but I must admit I've done it!

Corrosion on the ODB connector is a common problem as well

Ok so an update, had a few hours up my sleeve today and messed around for a while after hours of searching online for a solution. Checked obd port wiring, fuses, disconnected and reconnected eas timer, tried an old windows xp laptop but no luck. Finally, with the engine running and software running I again disconnected and reconnected the eas timer relay and it started working again.

What that did i have no idea.

So next strange happening. Like i said previously seconds before the software stopped connecting i was able upload the new heights from the calibration blocks to the eas, and the heights have been and continued to be fine. When i read the heights today (read all in the unlock suite) the heights in the display seem to be the old heights i had in the system previously???

Any ideas, maybe i need to unlock the eas.

Anyway some more fun for this weekend.

I've got the latest licenced version on my laptop. I could swing by at some stage and hook it up if you want

Did you actually clean the connector using a good connector cleaner like deoxit or similar? Things working when you disconnect and reconnect are often dirty connectors which occasionally make contact OK

It's the proximity to the aircon overflow which casues the problems I believe

Thanks Gary, I might take you up on that, just going to try a re connection on the weekend and will let you know how it goes.

Ok all back on track now, Hooked up the easunlock suite today and it connected no problem. Then read all heights, and the height values displayed were the old height values I had prior to the recalibration, while the Eas Is operating at the new calibrated height values. So re entered the new height values once again and now the eas suite displays the correct height values and the system is working correctly.

im guessing that the first time I was trying to write the new values the system stopped or crashed and somehow uploaded the new heights but kept the old heights.
