Me thinks this spanker is very lucky that he didn't kill some one and was sent to many years in jail instead.

You have to give him points for skill. Or incredible luck. I hope he doesn't loose any skill in his three years off the road.
Seriously though, that could have been really ugly.

With ought trying to start a war on here I feel 3 years is a bit harsh. I don't know the full circumstances of why he was driving like that, nor his history. But he obviously needs his licence for income and 3 years is a bloody long time. Yes he is a tool no denying that and it could have been an absolute nightmare if he collided with anybody. Nope changed my mind get the ******* off the road.

That Tosser wouldn't make a real Truckies fingernail, He should Never be allowed behind the wheel of a Truck again.
It is an absolute Miracle that nobody was hurt or even killed by his actions.
I hope they do re assess his case and throw the Turkey in jail, Not lessen the penalty.

Clowns like that give the rest of us the bad name. His driving reminds me of the bloke who killed those folk in the Burnley tunnel. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the tyre smoke though. Am empty dog trailer is easy to lock up, especially if the adjustments are more than about 6 weeks old.

Wow indeed.
What the dash cam doesn't show is the grade, it's reasonably steep coming down to that Queen St intersection, the speed he is carrying is crazy.

It looks to me like he's grabbed the right lane and then realised the traffic has stoped.
I don't think he ever intended to do the left turn.
Even the mud carters would be ashamed to call him one of thiers.

Never let it be said that I'm a defender of mud carters but, when they're being paid peanuts by the load, they have to go like a cut snake to scratch out a meagre living.
The dash cam footage was taken from another truck.

I don't care what pressure they're under, they have a responsibility to drive to the conditions and as required by the traffic acts without endangering other road users. Many of these short haul drivers are idiots and we see many of them on the freeway in Perth, hogging the right lane, tailgating, no indication of intentions etc.
And there's no police to control them or other lunatics.

Hogging the right lane? Why does that make them "lunatics"? Apart from a very few places, trucks have as much right to be in the right hand lane as anybody else, and if they are maintaining the speed limit what exactly is the problem? Trucks have just as much right to overtake as you do. Often you'll find, if you look, that the truck has gone into the right hand lane for a reason, and it's the impatient idiots in the cars preventing them moving back.

If you pulled a stunt like that on a Minesite and a Mines Inspector saw you do it you would not only loose your job but the fine would be much higher that this Turkey received.
There is absolutely NO excuse for this sort of behaviour whatsoever and it is totally indefensible.

Let's face it in Sydney there are far too many of these type of near misses that go unreported every day, usually caused by bonehead drivers who don't care about anybody else on the road. This one ended as a near miss but that was only though sheer luck.
Please slow down and be sensible people! The extra 2 minutes to get there alive are insignificant when you consider the other option.

Unfortunately carting fill through the agencies is a race to the bottom, and there will always be people there who begrudgingly put their hands up to take the work. They are paid that poorly that can not even afford to buy pants, or some King Gees like a proper Truckie, and have to resort to wearing tracky dacks, usually with stripes down the side.
Obviously the driver on the vid was on contract, as if he was on hourly they would be in convoy or stopped to go to the toilet, or held up in the terrible traffic.
If you want a glimpse into the mind , tune your UHF into their channel, but keep the kids away.

I have the missfortune to work(relief) with some of these gooses as we a have a truck based at a demand quarry.
This truck usually is supplying road base etc. for new housing estates.
From the first load to the last they think it's a race, quickest routes are always discussed while tailgating and pushing through the traffic
I don't play thier game and the boss renforces to all working there to "take it easy".
We are paid to be efficient not quick, I often let them pass only to catch them waiting to tip on site.
Strange thing is at the end of the day we get the same amount of work done and with far less stress and potential for damage.
It's a mind set thing as even on the last job of the day when they know it's over the still drive like a cut snake.
I prefer my regular gig feeding concrete plants at night.
No mud or open holes to dodge while clowns on machines want product it stupid places.

I have a few guys that I try to get when I need trucks that do the most loads or consistently high, whether contract or hourly, their trucks are always at a high standard, they are courteous and don't play games, like milking loads and times and they are always in demand while the guys who want every last minute or try another load on their docket, wonder why they can't always get work when it gets quiet so they try to screw everyone when the do get some.

The UHF channel? Please, I prefer peace and quiet to mindless abuse. My UHF used to go on around Corowa, and off again at Inglewood. Even then, I'd keep it down, as some of the highway guys are no better, and what exactly do you learn?

My post was nothing to do with a trucks "rights" to be in the right hand lane, it was about their behaviour generally especially tailgating...... which ever lane they're in. I checked one not long ago who changed lanes 17 times over about 15 kays with not one indication and ended up 1 car in front of me at the exit lights. He sat as close as a couple of metres off the back of cars but where did he think they could go in fairly heavy traffic?
Don't give me any crap about their rights, a moron behind the wheel of any vehicle is a danger to all others and particularly so when driving a heavy vehicle.

My comment was directly aimed it your "hogging the right lane" (direct quote) nonsense, and that's it. They do have the right to drive in lanes, same as you, so it's not "crap".
The other points you make in this post I completely agree with. It's just that, in the half a million ks I have covered in the last five years, I see car drivers doing the same things, only much more often. Morons are morons, everywhere. They have become more prevalent lately.

God knows how many miles I have driven over the last nearly five decades on all sorts of roads Australia wide and by and large the truck drivers are by far the safest drivers/operators on the roads.
Even the "Grey Haired Nomads" who can at times be a real pain in the arse don't usually pull stupid stunts, However the foreign tourists in their hire cars or those "Wicked" type campervans can be problematic though.
The person that pulled this stunt in that sort of traffic has absolutely NO regard for anyone else on the road and he/she should be severely punished for this act, Maybe that will instil some respect for other road users and a slap on the wrist type judgment would only encourage more of the same type of behaviour.

really? today at 1pm near Beenliegh on the M1 there were 8 trucks , 4 being b-doubles spread over the 4 lanes over a distance of about 400 mtrs.
it was causing serious chaos with traffic and the drivers I'm sure were enjoying it.
I called them up nicely on the cb and suggested that they slide into the two left lanes and allow the traffic to flow through....I got promptly told to get ****ed.
Its interesting that there were no police around and they would known that.

Not just truck drivers,i was overtaken a couple of days ago by a D4 fanging along the gateway going South just before the bridge.
A good few minutes later,a well marked police car, sirens blaring flew past me.It had 'road command' or something written over the back of it.
Sure enough at one of the exits,a long way on,i think it was Old Cleveland rd,the drivers of the two vehicles were on the side of the road having a discussion.

I have seen road workers in all 4 lanes a few times deliberately slowing down the traffic with work utes.
I don't know the full reason why they were doing it,maybe to block off lanes for roadworks but surely they don't need to block all lanes.
Have seen this while travelling in the opposite direction.

Can you explain, for those of us who are hard of hearing, what it is you are trying to say? We have one incident at Beenleigh you have experienced. We have no context. I se no news items. It's difficult, under those circumstances, to judge what your point might be. Were the trucks simply blocking the road because they could, or was there something going on that you could not see? Or, were you just having a bad day?
I'm not taking the ****. Serious questions.

On the M1? Fairly common, they call it a rolling blockade and use it to remove debris from the road. Debris can be anything from blown tyres, stuff fallen from tradies' utes or furniture lost by DIYers.

Really?? You surprise me..... not. Lol, I'm absolutely staggered by how many they catch. Most of the folk who travel that road would do so every day, and yet they don't get it. It's hardly subtle. There's a particular spot, where the M2 turns onto, well, the M2, rather than the Logan, if you see what I mean. Right there, where those in the left lanes are trying to get across to go South, and those on the M2 are trying to turn left and go North. That's where they sit.
I've driven around a bit. That place is by far NOT the worst I have experienced, but in NOW terms it is one of the worst. I would often find myself around there, at maybe 7 AM, trying to get to Lytton, after driving all night, dealing with madness. Brisbane has come a long way since I lived there. That interchange shows just how much further they have to go.
[Edit]. That the police sit there, rather than a million other places, says a lot, IMO.

This happens ALL the time on the Great Northern Highway and on some of the Freeways in Perth.
It us usually because the loads being carried are too big to let anyone pass them safely and there is usually a heavily marked police traffic patrol car in front of the convoy.
The loads are usually very heavy mining equipment, Hallpac's, Loaders etc. and NO I don't think the truckies are "Enjoying themselves" so although not very diplomatic the bloke that told you to ***k off over the radio was right as he couldn't pull over just to let you through.
What we are discussing here isn't Bad driving like what was originally posted here, It is an example of responsible and SAFE use of the highway.
