More than one month's worth of rain to sweep the east coast (http://thenewdaily.com.au/weather/2017/05/17/month-rain-east-coast-nsw/?utm_source=Responsys&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20170517_PM_Update)

Brissie to get 50mm-75mm! We can get that in a storm of 20 minutes duration. The media is going to have a field day with this " Significant Rain Event." [bigrolf]

I remember the last " rain event " we had. It coincided with high tide, May 1.a year or two ago. Thigh deep water flowing in at high tide, out as the tide went out. I will be heeding the warning, and preparing. If it doesn't happen, that's a bonus.

Well, I hope that doesn't occur for you Bob. I must say I have seen the drains along the foreshore in your area struggling with discharge on an incoming tide in a big wet. I nearly lost a rather expensive piece of equipment as a result. My then employer would not have been amused.
Stay dry.

Thanks, Steve. Must admit, I've been watching the weather radar, and at this point in time, it looks as though the system is heading off shore fairly quickly. If no other system influences it, a bit of rain is all we should get. The Big Fella up top must have only just opened up his summer E-mails, when we were all praying for rain. Still, no one is perfect [ except perhaps Ealsie] .

Townsville and Mackay copped a bit more than the south east corner of the state.

Nothing to see here. Not sure if it is inaccurate BOM reporting, or media beat up , either way you can only cry wolf so many times , before it becomes dangerous.
