Hi,
I have seen D3's in the workshop with the bonnet open almost 90 degrees. Any one know how they do this?

I've had a look and think it would involve removing the gas struts. I'm not keen to give it a go until I know the proper procedure.

Yes, un-clip the gas supports, raise the bonnet then move the spring clip attached to each hinge into its hole. It's a 2 person job and best done inside a workshop where wind can't blow it against the windscreen.

The two person tip was exactly what I was after. Thanks. [biggrin]

I do this by myself on the rangie when I service it. Just dont pick a day when its windy.
I have zip tires to support the struts when I have released them and a bit of wood supporting the bonnet until I get it fully open.

Don't try it on a D2.
I moved my bonnet only about 25MM past the strut position and a corner of the bonnet cracked my hard won plenum chamber cover.
