Silky Saw BigBoy Review and a bit of Track clearing with the D3

I've looked at these and wondered if it'd be worth it. I generally carry a chainsaw, but it's big and now my back and shoulders are stuffed, it's hard work. I'm thinking a hand saw would unfortunately be just as hard, and possibly worse, but I guess being so light, and one doesn't have to go like the wind, they may be ok.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it, but I think I would need to try one first if I can somewhere.

Yup, u don't need to put in too much effort but it's still a workout :-). Of course it depends on how fast you cut through as if you take your time it's no effort at all.

I have a Bakuma folding saw which I bought in a market with a spare blade when I was in Japan a decade or so ago. It looks a lot like the Silky which is great as it is due for replacement.
It has been excellent and has seen a lot of use and is now on the second blade which is missing some teeth and I've snapped the last 15mm of it. I used the Bunnings saws and Bahcos previously but this Japanese saw is a lot better.

Had a Silky and loved it. I lost it awhile back and replaced it with a similar shape and design Wolf (German made), and found that to be almost as good.

This one (http://www.arborlab.com.au/genki-temagari-hand-saw.html) is said to be better for cutting trees up rather than pruning which is what the folding saws are designed for.

Yup, but the BigBoy works really well and because it folds it's easy to carry in the vehicle.
