Hi Guys
I just bought this on Ebay
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/imported/2006/01/29.jpg
Paid $200,its ex SA Police, can go up to 35watts(not legally)
These things have up to 120 channels,so should be an interesting bit of equipment.
Its got all the 40 uhf channels programmed in.
There is another available closing soon.

Hi Pedro
It will be handy if I can get the police/fire/ambo/CALM frequencies into it 8) 8) 8) 8) I have seen a chart at work with all the state bushfire/shire/CALM frequencies, just need to remember where I saw it.
Apparently it has 3 power levels low=1watt medium=5watt and high 25watts+.I guess the high power is only any good in an emergency as you would need somebody else on high power to talk back, would be good for transmitting an outward signal if you are stuck.Legally you are only allowed to use 5w on the CB/UHF networks.

yep.. the good old Phillips FM900...

They are a good bit of gear, and for an old radio are very reliable...

I have a mate that has quite a few of these on different bands.. he is Amatuer operator.. and he has heaps of spares if you need anything let us know...

Good radio's mate but I don't believe you will be able to get the CFA, Ambo's or rural police because they are beolow the operating range of that radio. I think that model was designed with a reasonably narrow band width. You will be able to get metro police though. Ask a few questions from someone that knows a bit more but I don't think you will be able to program it too far away from the UHF cb frequencies.

Ohh boy we can go nuts on this one......

I have a PRM80 99 ch fully programable rig, best thing is i can program mine up without pulling the eprom....

Very Sexy......

i have 40 Ch uhf and the rest as police receive... ohh and its only 25Watt output, but i'll live.

you can pick them up for about $300 or so.
i have to get one of mine tweeked and 1 modified as its not working and the only bloke i know is in Tassie, so i have to send it over.
1 is for my old man for his Disco.

if you find a PRM80 make sure its a 8030, remote head and 99 chan. 8020 are not remote head and 8010 are 10 channel.
also they come in different bands, ie some are still uhf, but not the UHF CB band, you need to get them modded.

confused?
