I tried to replace the bottom hose on my Disco 1 V8 this weekend as it's been leaking for a while  .

The problem I had was I had to cut off the old one and the new one I had was wrong  . Does anybody know a part number or something for the old one so I know I will get the right part this time?

I gave them all the info they needed before including chassis number and they still go it wrong  .

I just checked the pic before I cropped it and it's still there https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ .

It's the top one I need by the way. The bottom is the wrong one I was sent.

hi Andrew there is another hose that looks the same shape the part no is PCH000070G . the bend is slightly different but hard to see in the picture ive got. best to take both part numbers along with chassi/engine no. just to make sure.

Mine is a 4.6, but it is a stroked 3.9 by Rovertech. I think it is using the original block :?

I will call with both the part numbers and see what they can come up with.

Thanks

Dunno if it helps but the hose you got is for a Vbelt 3.9 up to 93 .
By assumption you have a single belt engine with the new front and oil pump.

Just rang where I got it and it looks like they have sent me the earlier model.

That looks right Phillip, when I quoted the correct (hopefully) part numbers and then the number off the one I have he told me they have sent the early one.

The new one is coming up overnight and I just have to send the other one back.

Now I will just have to put it on and put the radiator back in.

The botttom hose I just fitted looks exactly like the one you have received. Git it from the board advertiser, from Tassie to Alstonville in two days!
After a lot of fiddling and cussin' it's on my Discovery 1 V8 1993 model.
I thought one 't' piece was a dumb idea (as mine split at the junction) but you've got two of them, mongrel of a job, eh?

Cheers, GQ

'Git' is actually 'got', a typo.

...and I have the same dining room floor, spooky....

Same as my kitchen floor, except for the toe decoration.
Popular stuff.

I could make this a topic in my psychology studies.

Correlation: What is the correlation of Land Rover owners and dining/kitchen room flooring of the same (with radiator hoses photographed in situ?)

The graph may show; LR owners have a high propensity to linotyle flooring of a certain description.

Bloody psychology.... GQ

They will take it back though, so as soon as I make it to the post office it will be sent back to them, and hopefully credited to my card.

I will let you know if they send the same one again

I got the hose today. The bloke said the part number war ESR1819 when I spoke to him, but when it turned up had PCH000070G on it :? :?

Well it's on now and went on a lot easier than it came off https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ 8O

A couple of bends look a bit sharp, but that seems normal for strange hoses

I got it up to temperature with no leaking https://www.aulro.com/afvb/ , but didn't test drive it because I had a couple of beers as I did it.

Beer is an excellent coolant but can bring on the need to leak
