Very sad news, every one has a right to come home safely after a day at work no matter what their occupation. We want police officers to also feel safe, we don't want to become another America where officers need one hand on the holster when approaching a car that would be scarey for us motorists.

I went to school with the Officer, and his older brother is a good friend of mine [bigsad]. His father was also a police officer. Very tragic.

The Victoria Police Association has paid an $11,000 Death benefit to the family of Brett Forte.
As if he was one of theirs.

Now that this thread is back on track, can we all spare a moment to remember Constable Damion Leeding, as well.
Damion was also murdered, six years previous to the day that Brett was, responding to a 000 call on the Gold Coast.
