My sage words of wisdom on Simex tyres is that they are bloody expensive.
Also I think a fair few Malayan rainforest challenger winners that have used Simex tyres

For a bog tyre they're relatively cheap.
For the road type tyres, there were a lot of them fitted to the hired 4WD's on Fraser Island, so I would assume that they are value for money.

I dunno Slunnie,,
I see the vehicles from most 4x4 Hire companies every day,
and they ALL use normal AT tyres,,
its only the private cars that run lumpy tyres. (god only knows why, not a lot of mud on Fraser  )

I think Simex has been taken over, for the life of me I can't recall who by. So what happens in the future is anyone's guess.
Up til now they've used old Dunlop mould for their road tyres. So, imagine a Dunlop quality carcass, add an unknown compound, & theres your Simex tyre. Cheap, but value for money? Your call.
But they are getting into low profile stuff. Where the R&D comes from, who knows. So things are changing.
As for the bias ply range, just ask, we've plenty of positive experience with ETs & JT2s on this board. Positive off-road experience anyway. Around town there are wear issues, flat spots, poor steering compared to a radial, worse economy, etc etc.

Gday Pedro, I dont mean the extreme Simex tyres, they also do regular tyres also.
A lot of the hire 4WD's on Fraser use the Simex Road Trekker:
