A friend of mine has bought a 130 cab chassis with the longer cab with the small window behind the door. It is an ex Telstra unit and has no tray. He wants me to make a tray for it. As he has not picked it up yet (in Towoomba), I am interested in how long a tray that could be put on it, or how long the chassis is behind the cab.
Thanks
Lindsay.

Hi,
My understanding is 60% of the length of the wheel base behind the rear axle is the max.
On a 130 that will be a 10 ft tray. Mine is a standard 8 ft x 6 ft and is adequate for what I need.
If the Telstra cab extension is less than 2 ft, an 8 ft tray will be legal.
Cheers

The Telstra cab extension is only around 200mm.

Mine still has the original body on it which is 2350 long. An 8' tray would be fine.

In addition to the conversion manual there's a thread here Tray Mounts (https://www.aulro.com/afvb/90-110-130-defender-county/157103-tray-mounts.html) that shows how I mounted my very solid steel tray.
