I have a 2003 HSE V* with 18" wheels and god awful Goodyear Wrangler HP tyres 255/55/R18. I do a bit of dirt track driving, not excessivly rough, Dixon's Long Point, Bridle trail, varios trails in the Mountains etc. I would love a tyre that has a bit more to it but it seems the 18' dia doesn't allow for much choice. Apart from getting a set of 16" wheels is there any tyre combination out there that is a fair compromise. I have looked at Cooper H/T Plus but again they are 255/55/R18 and I am sure thay are a better tyre than the Wrangler but ideally something with a slightly more aggressive tread would be ideal as these sem pretty similar to the wrangler's in pattern.
Is there anythng else I should look at, perhaps a 255/60/18 and if so what make etc?

Will the Pirelli Scorpion A/ts in this size 60 235/60 R18TL 107TRB
fit you rims? They just rated highest in the 4x4 monthly test.

Thanks for commenting Owen.
I think the are a bit skinny for the wider rims. The new Disco has the New Wranglet All Weather 255/60/18 but not sure how they rate. They also want $460 each fr them.....
A nice tough tyre like the Scorpian would be great. I am only guessing the 60 profile will not rub on any body parts or steering arms etc also.

Do you know anything about the Scorpion Zero? It is available in 255/60/18.
