Gday All,
Anyone know what size cable the main negative to the starter battery is ? It looks bigger than a normal off the shelf cable.
Cheers Ean

Hi Ean, why do you need to know that, because it’s a special cable?

Gday Tim,
just playing off around under the hood and with a couple of different batteries and noticed the size of the cable looked bigger than usual .

Tim , if I linked the main earth stud that the neg lead is on with 1 or both of the smaller earth studs in front of the battery box , could I use this for the main earth for the start battery ?
cheers Ean

Hi Ear, your disco is already "linked" through the bodywork and this is a pretty solid earth as it is.
So you will not really gain anything by running a separate cable to that point.
NOTE, this is the same point, at the two studs, that is used to earth a winch's negative cable.
PS from memory, the cranking battery's negative earth cable is 25mm2
