Perentie fuel tank repair

My 4x4 Perentie has developed a diesel leak from the bottom of the fuel tank between the bash plate and the tank.
I have 3 options:
1. replace the tank +-$1500
2. Have the tank stripped, repaired and resoldered +-$700
3. Clean, derust and seal the tank myself with a liquid tank sealant +- $200

The solution seems to be a no brainer.

My question is has anybody used the KBS fuel tank repair kit?

Any comments about this product or any other will be gratefully received.

Phil I haven't used the KBS fuel tank repair kit specifically, but i have used the KBS rust seal extensively. I'm extremely impressed with the KBS rust seal product. If I were in your position I would give the KBS tank seal a go, assuming that the hole is only a small one.

Yes I have and it works.
My tank had leaked for 3 years and after an altercation with a log in the paddock the crud that was sealing the holes moved making the leak considerable.
When using any painted product its all about preparation.
I removed the tank cleaned it and found small holes in the corner of the tank and in the area around the pick up pipe inside the baffled area.
After consulting with KBS's technical guy I went with their product.
So i cleaned the tank some more and then I cleaned the tank some more. Then I started to follow their instructions so I cleaned the tank.
The advice from them was to use some fiberglass matting where there are any holes larger than a pin pick. When applying the sealer it was difficult to keep the mesh in place as it wanted to flow with the sealer as your rotate the tank around.
It cost me $105 for the kit, some degreaser, some fiberglass matting, and a tube of sika to seal the 2 skins of the back together and hopefully keep the rubbish out from between the two skins.
Been a month now and no leaks.

I haven't used that sealant but have used Redkote for the same thing. It worked a treat.
