Hi Gang
We have a 1999 disco2 there is a front wheel bearing noise which i think is them going on and off load as we move the wheel left and right slowly.
This noise only happens at 100 km/h its like the sound you get when you have loose bearings in a front wheel drive car you can hear the brake pads rubbing when there out of square as they load and unload.due to the wheel shifting there direction
What is the torque setting for tightening up the castle nut.
How hard is changing the bearings ,are they like a normal set ie like a rear drive car.
Im a reasonable mechanic but im use to front wheel /4wd from owning subarus and minis.
The disco is my wifes car i have a subaru vortex (no im not a one eyed subi nut  )
But going from a car thats 2" off the ground to 3' is a hoot some times i swear im going to get vertigo .
I love the power the 3.9 goes like a rocket compared to my flat four.
And you dont even notice if you have a trailer or not on the back : https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
Cheers Pete

If the Disco 2 is the same as a 38A, and I think it is, the front wheel bearings are not replaceable as the outer track is machined directly into the hub. You have to buy a new hub assembly, a la Jeep, and Rangie.
Mucho dinero.
