View Full Version : Are these Wolf Rims?

I bought these some years ago as Wolf Rims ( & I recall being told by a visitor they were) but as I'm selling them can anyone confirm?
They are definitely fitted with tubeless lip but were there 130 rims as well? I've attached as many pics - sorry about the quality- of the stampings, the last being inside the rim.

David, they are "Wolf rims" but if they are tubeless ones they should have ANR4583 and tubeless stamped on them.

I was told by a respected mechanic here in Melb they were, but only had my doubts as I cannot locate the ANR4583 stamp or the word tubeless, but they are certainly tubeless.
My Discovery rims are tubeless & no tubeless stamped on them either. Very confusing

Of the 15 Wolf pattern rims I have, 5 are tubeless type. I gather they were originally imported into Western Australia by someone other than Land Rover. These do not have any Land Rover part number among the numbers on them. Look to me effectively identical with "genuine" ones. Probably produced in the same factory but not sold through Land Rover. Don't know if some other vehicle or trailer maker uses same rims or manufacturer just supplied an aftermarket parts distributer.
Several years ago I bought these rims with Goodrich Mud Terrains fitted from bloke who had recently moved from WA to Bendigo Victoria to work in mine. Were apparently on his Defender station wagon when he bought it but he wanted wider rims and bigger tyres. Personally, I think Wolfs are the best for use on Defenders. If widies were better, likely military would have used them, which they haven't. Also on Series Landies. Wolfs sit out further from the chassis than standard 5.5 inch wide rims and also 7 inch steel ones from Disco !'s. Steering lock stops to stop front wheel on inside of turn rubbing on chassis can be screwed in to allow less lousy turning circle - limited by steering box travel just before stops would be desirable.

If the rims are for tubeless tyres, I believe there will be a bead retention lip in the rim. The old tubed rims don't have that and yours don't appear to have it either.
