When I was up in Brisbane, my mate took us to South Bank and we walked along and the was an intricate wooden building, I can't recall what it's purpose was,( it might have been an oriental style building, too long ago to recall) my mate turned to his wife and told her it was carved from a single tree. She said "bulldust" and turned to me and asked "is that true Mario?'. I couldn't help myself and said yes. She then believed it had been craved from a single tree as now 2 of us confirmed it[bigwhistle]

Working in Brissie in the late '60s, early '70s I'd walk from Central Station to George St to the office. Train travelers, on exiting the station, were often approached by "Survey People" & asked questions or to fill out a quick questionnaire.
Some of the replies given by other people and myself were, in hindsight, not reflective of a sensible response but we thought it was funny at the time (Late teens, early twenties). We'd recount our answers on the trip home & have a bloody good laugh, voting for the best (worst) reply.
Looking back, it probably did more harm than good.[bighmmm]

Our story was that housewives had complained that the straight ones had a habit of rolling off the table so a machine was developed by International Bending Machines (IBM) to create a bend.

As many of them had heard of IBM and some had a vague recollection of a company that really did exist called International Vending Machines, our story had a ring of truth about it.
