Around here (Northern Rivers NSW), there appears to be a preponderance of old Nissan lwb 4wd wagons, dunno what the code is but its the same model Ford sold as a Maverick; jacked up maybe a foot or so, and often covered in extra lights jacks and all sorts of other fruit. Is this a local thing or are you noticing the same where you are? Are these lift jobbies legal?

Cheers, GQ

That would be the GQ, there are a few around here, there are just as many GU's done up in a similar fashion. As hiline said, they need to be that high to get anywhere off road. Matt

Hi Quiggers
They are one tough off roader when modded, they are cheaper and much stronger than the you bueat Cruiser.
Probably about the best of the rice burners if you wernt a Landrover Lover.

The GU's are not a bad truck but you need a few mods to take them the same places as most standard landies!

it's the GQ model, but the GUs get done up just the same around here... and there are quite a few of both getting around.

the suspension lifts are legal, but you need an engineers cert. (in NSW) for the pootrols and tree bruisers you can get up to about a 7 inch lift kit straight off the shelf!!!

one of the blokes i used to work with has a GQ with a 6" suspension lift a 2"body lift and 35" tyres, and i had to drive it a couple of times...

hiline, driving behind one of 'em is one thing. actually driving one is TOTALLY different!!! 8O 8O 8O

i reckon this bloke had to get new seats after i'd driven it!!! 8O 8O https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

cheers,

Yeah the factory goes to a lot of trouble to make them have certain features like, oh for a start...

Stability
Safety
A side roll over angle thats half respectable.
Non wallowing suspension

and then they do THAT to them and throw it all out the window.

Imagine a 7" lifted truck on a side slope. 8O
