Hi All, I recently had to replace my front driveshaft on my '04 td5 as it **** itself in the double cadan joint(a common thing). I had a heavy duty driveshaft with grease nipples, etc., in the garage, so went to a local CV specialist in Gosford to have it refurbished with new universal joints, etc. It was previously balanced so when the CV guy said that the new parts wouldn't effect the balance of the driveshaft, I didn't think otherwise. This HD one did not come off my vehicle but was a purchase a couple of years back.
However, after installing the unit, I've noticed what feels to me to be a vibration around the 70 kph mark. I've also noticed that the new grease nipples are not in the same location as previous so could relocating those have an effect on the driveshaft balance?
So, I am wondering if anyone knows of anyone on the Central Coast that balances driveshafts. I know of Gibbons up hear Newcastle but was hoping that there might be someone closer to Gosford.
Cheers,
Peter [smilebigeye]
