Went to start the Rangie last week and the battery was too low. Jumped it and got going to leave for town and noticed the inside lights were on. Checked all the switches and that made no difference. I suspect it may be in the delay mechanism. I have pulled all the bulbs in the meantime.
Anyone know the fix for this or where the delay is?

What year? In my 86 there's a delay unit under the steering wheel area with the indicator and hazard light relays I think.

I threw one of those out of a '86 not that long ago for the same reason. The relay is bright red from memory. I experimented for a while and bridged two terminals to get the door switches to work normally, i.e. no delay on door closing. The relay has some purple wires into it, the door switches run purple/white stripe so not hard to identify. The bridge was fitted with a dash mounted switch so the doors could be left open if needed and stop draining the battery.

its above the pedals. whip the plastic cover out from above the pedals and you should see a relay labeled "delay unit" or similar. I bet if you pull it out and refit it ... it works normally again. Pulling the battery terminal may reset it ?

You might have to dig around under the steering column area a bit - I found mine was on the left side of the steering column quite high up almost underneath the instrument cluster, when I originally took the dash apart some years ago.
You might find some errant lucasĀ® wiring harness smoke up there as well... bottle it if you do :D
