If I have my bearing right from the pic. It could be the seal between the transfer case and the gearbox.
you may want to post this to technical chatter forum?

Answer.... A Land Rover .........
HA ha ha
seriously thugh, i had a similar leak it was coming from the access to the top of the box where the hi lo lever went in, paper gasket there - either way isnt that hard to fix, and remember while its leaking - theres still oil in it, when it stops leaking...........worry

I guess my disco must fine for gearbox oil, engine oil, and power steering fluid then.
Maybe it was designed that way by LR, so you didn't have to remove the filler plugs to check the levels. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/

JohnV: how do I transfer this to the tech section (or do I just re-post it?)
I will assume that it is the transfer case seal(s) and see if I can negotiate something off the price to get it fixed. Any suggestions as to how much $$?
The car is in Melb and I am in Adel, so I guess if I buy it I should check all the oil levels before I drive it back & then take it in to the local LR shop to get it looked at.
