We have just returned from a brief outback trip, via Broken Hill- Tibooburra-Cameron's Corner-Old Strez to Innamincka for a relaxing 4 days at Coongie Lake, then down the Bore Track and Toona Gate back to Tibooburra then across to Wanaaring- Hungerford for a few days at Carrawinya N.P. before heading home. Very enjoyable quick break and the 130 performed faultlessly with the exception of the following mystery ailment plus a blown fuse and one flat tyre (really cheesed me off, about 3,000km of outback tracks in 2 weeks and we wake up to a tek screw in the tyre on the first morning after hitting bitumen).

On Monday we drove from the campground at Gundabooka NP just south of Bourke to Echuca, around 750km, moderately loaded, with a 16' canoe on the roof of the 130 and towing a camper trailer. We had the southbound roads almost to ourselves until we hit Deniliquin and the 130 ran like a train, I was keen to put in a big day and sitting on around 105km/hr most of the day. Each time we stopped after a couple of hours of highway cruising, the engine would 'hunt' quite severely at low speed as we pulled in to a park; really juddering and giving the driveline backlash a workout. I haven't had this symptom before, have not yet got around to checking fault codes but wondering if anyone else has experienced this or can suggest what might be the cause.

Haven't done anything but unpack and clean camping gear since I got home. Might get a chance to plug the nanocom in this afternoon. I was thinking perhaps the VCV, might get it changed.

My mildly educated call will be the VCV
It wont fault when you scan the ECU but a little trick that Dave from BAS mentioned to me was that if you try to relearn your IP and it doesnt take the first time you try then the VCV is likely culprit.
So assuming no ECU faults
Run an IP learn if that staggers then almost certainly VCV

Its an easy changeout if it is the VCV
