G'day Gang,

My intention is not to start a ''rim raucous''. I just need some love.
Has anybody recently had their GOE rims order fulfilled?
My understanding is that they were to be available for delivery from factory from June 22nd. (Perhaps I am too eager/early in asking).
Does anyone know if the factory is in the UK, China or elsewhere? Their phone #?

Hi Steve,

I have made contact personally with Barry Dixon at Compomotive in the UK.
I'm in the same boat awaiting an order via direct freight.

I spoke with Barry in the first week of June and had the same feedback they would be ready 21/22nd of June.

I was in contact with him again yesterday and Barry has confirmed they have now the stock available for distribution.

It's all about arrangements of orders destined for Australia now I guess.

At the beginning of the week I actually managed to get in phone contact with Gordon and he said he would send me TNT shipping details or at least I'd be emailed with information on the orders I had with GOE.
Unfortunately this still hasn't come to fruition after daily reminders.

I will continue daily from now on until I get my tracking numbers.

TNT in UK were hit with Ransomware virus and are not taking orders at the moment. Do not know when they will be back on line.

Ok Gang,

I have had an email from Gordon. The rims have been made and are booked on a boat to arrive Perth 16th Aug. Then several more days to arrive at their final destination. I wheelly hope there are no more delays.

Was that the June order?

I ordered 5 myself so it's nice to know they're on the way.

I believe that back orders have been fulfilled. That may include yours. I have been waiting since late Nov.

Thanks Steve.

No, mine's not a back order. Ordered mine in June for the June order deadline.

Hi Guys,

Has anyone waiting on air freight delivery received any shipping info or had any dates confirmed?
My order is part of the backlog from 6 months ago.

Thanks

Hi Sterney,

Yes I have my tracking details, mine was an airfreight order from a purchase made 11Feb this year with GOE.

I perhaps have mine early as I reached out to Compomotive directly on the saga.
They have kept me very well informed hence the photo.
It's a UPS shipment due to the TNT mess.

I'm hopeful that Compomotive would have probably sent the tracking details to GOE to be distributed.

Regards,
Andrew

Just curious, have others following this thread who have ordered Compomotive wheels in the past through GOE paid import duties?

I presume you would have paid GST on the wheels when you ordered them through GOE. You shouldn't have to pay it twice on the same items. Did Gordon give you a Tax Invoice for the sale? Check with Gordon?

Hi Chris, looking back I just got a order email confirmation that stipulated shipping and handling as well as tax at zero. Cost of the air freight per rim was included per wheel.

So, I just checked, GOE is not registered for GST. This means it can't charge GST on a product or claim GST on expenses. So on the face of it, if GOE was to import the wheels and distribute them in OZ, then GOE would pay the GST on import but could not pass it on to the purchaser. If the order comes directly from the factory, the order comes direct to the purchaser who will get whacked for the GST? I would hope there was a discount from GOE for the fact that they did not have to pay GST as they did not import the goods (you did)????

I am hopefully completely off the mark here. Please correct me.

Been in contact with Gordon.
If you have a shipment coming in via UPS, get Gordon to pay the custom fees.

No. As said above, GOE covers import costs including GST. Cost is $3600 delivered.

Thanks for sharing this, Crofty.

Are there any clearance issues with the Cooper 265/65s? I'm expecting my Compomotives to arrive some time in August (hopefully 2017!) and was planning on using the Khumo MT51s which only comes in 265/60 for 18". As I mainly off-road on rocky Vic high country tracks, the more sidewall the better for me. But I understand from other forum posts about D4 18" tyres that 265/65s tend to foul the wheel wells, particularly in maximum articulation situations.

I'd be interested in your comments. Did you have a reason for not going with 260/65s as I see this size is also available?

Unfortunately I haven't much of an opportunity to drive it much since fitment. It's the 1st set of AT tyres for the D4 and they aren't as quiet as the Pirelli Scorpions I had on previously which was expected.
I had a boot full of rims and tyres rocking about on the way home as well which didn't help matter but the ride did feel more plush than with my 20".

All 4 are at 36psi which felt pretty good but I'll be experimenting with pressures.

I have a "very" minor rub at the front left in full lock reverse which won't last long once the tyres wear a little.
I do have the Prospeed steering rack lock stops but haven't fitted them. Don't think they will be necessary.

Need to get out on the rough stuff next to see how they perform and adjust as required.

One thing is for sure, they have transformed to the D4 from being pretty to beast [emoji106]

Still too early to tell DieselLSE. I haven't experienced any issues regarding clearance thus far but I've only done a bitumen run on access and normal height.
Just the very minor rub on full lock at the left tyre in reverse which won't last.

Similarly I went 65 for added sidewall for rock and sand runs at low pressure.

Hi Crofty.

Are those rims black? Know it sounds like a dumb question but I can't decide for sure from the photos although I reckon they are.

I have ordered 5 black ones due end Aug/Sep. Didn't bother with air freight as my 19" tyres still have some tread left. Already bought the replacement caps - they look good on yours. [smilebigeye]

Im glad I ordered mine from UK. Not only did they arrive 18 days after placing the order, they were cheaper than GOE! And I was apologised to as I had to wait 3 days longer than normal because compomotive had none in stock but did a batch run a day later. All I can say is the internet is your friend as are suppliers in UK when it comes to importation. I am all for supporting local suppliers but 1. they must be cheaper than overseas suppliers for the exact same part and 2. just as quick on delivery. If not why use them? I earn my money hard not just to waste it on supporting an inefficient local supplier.

G'day Gang.

Due to popular demand (read: Crofty) - photos.
Photos not really showing true colour of vehicle. It is Champagne.

The rims now have centre caps (green oval on silver). But because I am currently away with a mate doing a series of Field Days, I haven't seen end result and therefore I have no photos.
Rubber is Bridgestone 697s.
