I know exactly what she meant, and the emphasis should be on the "she". A bit late but, just for the sake of clarity....

on the intended meanings of the terms "wannabes" and "hasbeens" in relation to Land Rover ownership:

wannabes => those that never have but want to
hasbeens => those that have but don't anymore (and may still want to).

I don't think anyone meant anything derogatory in their use.

I don't own a Land Rover either.

But my vehicle has same engine , gearbox, wheelbase as a Defender and has cost me nothing in 2 years , which cannot be said about the D2 I owned previously.
