I purchased a 2015 Land Rover Defender brand new. It was awesome but
I really am upset to say my defender is without doubt the most unreliable vehicle I have ever had
Almost as soon as it had done 100k the problems have been constant.
Heres the pain. Now looking at these you might think this has been thrashed , it hasn't , it's done plenty of kms in a short time and 80% on tar.
its done 117000 kms
Sept 2016 transfer case replaced after complete breakdown. Month repair time
Jan 2017 drive shaft shears completely.
Month repair time.
Early May . Cannot shift into gear. Is taken to Land Rover Southern Classic in Wollongong who are unable to find a fault.
3 weeks sitting there.
I pick up and within an hour am unable to change gear. Engine warning lamp comes on and goes into limp mode. Is towed to Alto Land Rover who after a week waiting in line for repair , to Altos credit they identify a tricky issue with a valve on the clutch master cylinder. I pick up vehicle after 3 weeks .15 minutes later the engine warning light comes on and goes into limp mode. Return to Alto , the identify engine fault as with the turbo. They returned vehicle to me 2 days later. 1 day later again engine warning light is on again and in limp mode. Now I'm looking down the barrel of thousands for a new turbo. So here I am having forked out a hell of a lot of money for a 4WD I don't have and can no longer trust even when I get it back.
Im no mechanic , advice would be really appreciated. Have I just got a lemon?
A deeply dissapointed nampix
