I last polished my headlights before I had my Bull bar fitted by ?????.
I went to polish them again today and I noticed that the two bottom mounts on the r/hand headlight assembly were broken also the two mounting bolts on the top were loose as well, Not at all impressed here.
It looks like they have bashed underneath the headlight assembly when they fitted the bullbar.
Not only did they damage the truck, They made NO attempt to fix it or to let me know it was Buggered.
I have done about 4,000ks since the bar was fitted and it is an just dumb luck that the whole assembly hasn't fallen off.

RapidFix, or the other one I can't remember, which is better. Fix it right up.

I'd be spewing, though.

Just a thought, could it have been some one trying to pinch your lights?

Only thing against that is; Why did they stop? They nearly had them, looking at that. But, will they come out? I've never tried with the bonnet down.

Well, there are certain low lifes among us who would steal the gold out of their Mothers teeth, to get money to feed their habit. Chances are they are not that bright, to go with it. Not a good idea to name & shame before you talk to ?????. Take a deep breath, calmly approach the situation. You have driven, what? 4,000 km's since fitting? I know what they are going to say. Good luck.

I live 35ks out of town and my nearest neighbour is 5-6 ks away so things getting nicked while the truck is parked overnight is a pretty remote possibility, The culprit here is just good old fashioned Bad Workmanship.

With the bullbar in front of the lights how on earth do they get damaged?
The damage is obvious as the busted fitting shows that the hit was taken from under the light assembly, That possibility is negated by a thumping big lump of steel under the light [bigwhistle]

Very easily John, it was a massive problem in the UK, they turned up on e-bay.

I also paid via credit card So there are other options if they don't come good [bigwhistle]

Mate, you didn't notice it for 4,000 km's. You didn't do a quality check on completion of work. And in that 4,000 km's, have you been away from home? Legally, I don't think you have a leg to stand on. Sorry.

I've made a few successful plastic repairs using this stuff (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Q-bond-Qbond-Style-Plastic-Repair-Kit-Super-Glue-Filler-/222247534341?hash=item33befc3f05:g:0OQAAOSwpDdU~kn u).
It comes with both black and grey reinforcing/filling powder.

When is the last time you checked your headlights?
I didn't notice it because the light looked to be just fine and only picked the damage up when I was polishing it.
It's not as if there was a thumping big dent in the truck.

You may want to think about this. Any work done on my vehicle, I go over it closely. Any thing out of order, I question it. You go to the shamed business [ and I recently read on this part of the forum we never name and shame] and say to them 4,000 km's ago they made a mistake, they would be perfectly within their rights to deny responsibility. You may be lucky, they might not want adverse publicity. As I said, good luck.

I can only try, I will post the results of what occurs on Monday.
From looking at the damage sustained to the assembly it is obvious that the impact came from underneath and the only time that this could have happened is when the bar was being fitted So it is pretty irrelevant the amount of K's travelled.

I forgot to add that where the inner mounting is broken the screw and the broken part of the mounting is missing.
IF I had busted this on My Watch then the screw and the part of the mounting would still be there.

I have decided to fix this myself as the expected hassle's at ??????? to get this repaired is probably not worth the effort [thumbsupbig]

I have managed to refit the outer Lug using some Araldite and it looks to be OK and should do the job.

I am not sure what to do here as the small "L" bracket that goes from the back of the grill to the assembly is missing along with both retaining screws and where it fits onto the assembly is pretty much Buggered.
I have located a new screw to fit into the back of the grill part and I will head into Wyatt's tomorrow and see if they have a replacement "L" bracket for me.
I am thinking that I could glue the "L" bracket to the light assembly as screwing it together is out of the question as there isn't enough "Meat" left there to do the job and then screw the other end onto the back of the grill.
Hopefully this will fix this.

I hope you intend to let the installer know about the poor workmanship and lack of honesty.
The principal probably knows nothing of the damage and will not have been told by the ham-fisted fitter.
This sort of service can wreck a business very quickly, the owner should appreciate you bringing it to his attention.

I will definitely call into the shop tomorrow, like you said the fitter probably swept this under the carpet.
The rest of the fitment and the Bullbar itself is just fine ( I had a really GOOD "Squizz" today) and I have already used the winch a couple of times without any dramas to the bar.
The thing that really annoyed me is that I wasn't told about this in the first place.

Have you checked if they used scotch locks on the wire`s for the bar lights as that is a favourite for installers and not a good idea either[wink11]
