I saw this air compressor fitted to the PTO on the back of a Ferguson Tractor at the Black Smiths Shop, the guy was saying that he is 90% certain it is the same size spline as a LR PTO. He showed me it running . A nice safe implement to run on a PTO that isn't dangerous. These days my water pump display is starting to get too heavy for this old feller.[bighmmm]

Early Fergies had a 6 spline 1 1/8" shaft, later ones had a 6 spline 1 3/8" shaft. Not sure what the Land Rover had but I suspect it was the 1 3/8", which is now standard. There were adapters to go from 1 1/8" to 1 3/8", but these were quite weak and I would imagine would be hard to find now.

Cheers,
Mick.

Mine is an Autolux.
It does not have a splined socket.
It has one setscrew to engage the splines on the PTO. I guess they thought there was not much HP involved and that would be enough.
