Hey all,
I am curious as to what equipment people are keeping in their drivers side seat box? Mine is for tool storage and other bits and pieces at the moment. I was going to mount the compressor in there but that is now going in the rear tub of the 130.
Cheers
Simon

Being a Puma mine has the ECU and associated stuff under there. Plus I've put in an extra fuse box and had the radio main part installed there but have removed it prior to sale.
Not much room for anything else.

My socket sets (1/2" and 1/4")
copper and hide faced hammers
lump hammer
hub nut socket
Snatch block and shakle
1/2" Brace
1/2" breaker bar
Torx and allen sockets
222 and 243 Loctite
various sealants (Hylomar, av gasket goo, Loctite 518)
Liquid metal
anti-seize
32mm open ender (fan spanner)
Diesel spill/return hose
Silicone tape
tyre repair kits/plugs, etc
rags
stuff.
A fair bit of that stuff was used on a daily basis as the 130 used to be my work truck.
It's a great place to hide things, most people don't now it's there.
A little like the box under the back seat.

I keep recovery straps in there.
Except today I used them. It's a bit of a pain having them under the seat- unless you use a bit of foresight, they can be hard to get to when you really need them.

DM - Is that because you don't have a Defender? [happycry]

No it's because I've never made any use of it, unlike the passenger's side box, which contains a Traxide DBC and other stuff. Maybe I should.

ARB twin air compressor with hose etc. I'm far less diligent as some earlier posts to cram stuff in.

ECU and stuff relocated when I first acquired the Puma. Now holds masses of recovery gear. Like Toxic Avenger, I find it a pain to get to, but it's still the best location for all this gear (so far).
I thought about putting the compressor here, but instead it fits very nicely next to my wheel arch storage box, and it would have taken up too much of the valuable under-seat space for my liking.

Big AGM frig battery. On its side. Anything else I put in there will surely find the battery terminals.

Here's a pic. It's an Odyssey PC1700. I had to crimp the top of the seat box a bit to get it in.
Not too many alternative places in a single cab tray.126647

I guess the smaller size of lithium ion batteries will be a big advantage in situations like that, when the price drops.

I think I will always be a bit wary of lithium batteries when water is involved.
I don't care how safe the manufacturers say they are....

Connected to a solar panel on the roof. Not very pretty, but so much better than the ARC power pack I used to lug around.
