discovery roof rack

hi guys

i might be buying an arb roof rack off a guy in sydney and i was wondering if anyone know's whether it will fit??

the roof rack is coming off a 97 model
and we have a 99 model :- but note this is the change over not a series 11

Hi dullbird,

Do you mean that you dont have a series 2 disco? What you have is one of the last D1s?

If so then the rack will fit, you only need to worry about the factory roof rails, cause if it is a rack made for no roof rails and you have roof rails it wont fit unless you remove the rails (reasonably easy job) the other way round is ok though.

In most cases D1 and D2 racks are the same width between gutters, just the length varies and would only be noticable on a full length rack.

What Glen said. The SII Disco didnt come in until the end of 99 so some of the early 99 disco's will still be the older shaped SI. If yours is the older series I then it will fit. Matt

Whats the max weight you can put on those rails ??
As I am thinking of bolting one of those baskets on.
