Hi guys,
So after 250,000k my P/S rack has been replaced.
Thought it was the cause of heavy steering but alas it seems the pump is the issue.
Yes the rack needed replacing as it was leaking and also had bad tie rod joints.

But having paid enough for the rack I'm considering doing the pump myself.
Has anyone else tackled this job and how was the challenge?

Cheers Rich

So I gather from the silence that no one has attempted this!

Well I tried yesterday together with a service manual - well after nearly 3 hrs I had to give up and reassemble all the bits and take it to my mechanic.
He also took 3 hrs but got the job done!

My advice - don't even try!

Cheers Rich

How hard can it be? Famous last words?

It's the rear bolt which is just about impossible to get to.
