HI Guys,

I am very fortunate enough to be driving around in the new disco however I skimped out on getting the intelligent seat fold. I would like to retrofit it. The salesman said that they can't do it. I would like to know from you guys if thats true. All the seats are electric so i am half way there. :)

I have only had it a few days now but absolutely love it. I will take some pics over the weekend to post.

Hey Lee, I think that makes you the first D5 owner to post on AULRO. Looking forward to hearing more about your experiences.

Are you willing to share the last 8 characters of your VIN so we can look up your build in TOPIX?

The D5 is only supported by the Pathfinder DOIP diagnostic tool at the moment, nothing aftermarket can work with it. No support in SDD either.

I have a DOIP on the way but I don't expect to be up and running until September..

Thanks TB now the fun begins in learning how to use it. This is my first Land Rover. :)

Cambo - Thank you for the update. I am reading things like Global Closing is Disabled to that could be enabled using these devices. Again all new to me.

If you ever go to Williamstown, my coffee is better than the cafes here [wink11] [wink11]

We have a good view of the beach ( If you don't mind a step ladder on the roof!)

You should be able to turn on/off Global open & Global close via menu with the steering wheel switches.

Hi sniegy,

You can enable/disable Global Opening But Not Global Closing. Global Opening opens the car and puts all the windows down. But you can't do the opposite. Maybe some legal thing but kinda sux.

If you don't have this option on your dash, then you don't have this option in your vehicle & cannot be adjusted/added/retrofitted etc etc.

Ill check over the weekend and get back to you. I wouldn't like to bet on it but I'm pretty sure. I read the manual and thought wow that is cool then went outside and held the button on the fob down and it opened up and all windows went down. I said now watch this ...... yep egg on my face... couldn't do the closing part.

Closing is different than previous vehicles.
Its not just using the key fob.
It is a 2 part process now which involves locking with remote then hold your finger on the door handle indentation & the windows will go up as long as you have turned it on in the info centre.

My D4 work open close with remote only.
It was changed to a 2 part sequence for safety-read you had to be at the vehicle to watch it all close up.

Cheers

The global close using the remote was disabled in Australian delivered D4's (and the Jags, and other LR models) from around 2010 or thereabouts.

My 2007 Freelander2 could roll up the windows and close the sunroof by holding down the lock button on the respite from the factory, my friends 2015MY Freelander2 had it disabled.

Every "new" JLR vehicle I work on, I enable this feature for the owner, have done dozens now, yesterday I did it on a 2012MY D4, yep, the function was disabled in the CCF from the factory.

When it is disabled you can still roll up the windows by holding the button on the door handle, just not from the remote.

Hi Sniegy and Cam,

I tested this out on the weekend and Sniegy you are right. I had to close the vehicle with the FOB. Then put my finger on the circle on the door handle for the windows to go up.

Cam are you saying with the IID you can enable it so it would work just from the FOB by closing car and holding the button.
