Hi All in this great knowledge base,
I have had my D4 HSE for a couple of weeks now. The drivers side headlight goes out intermittantly. It had a driving light fitted before I bought it and they had been removed, but the wiring left. I fitted a set of HID lights and used the existing switch and light wiring as a trigger for the relays for the HID's and they work fine. Switch on and off with high beam and the rocker switch that was already fitted. But!!!
I had a feeling driving home a few nights earlier that the drivers side headlight was out. I checked it when I got home and it was working.
When checking that the HID's were working the R/F headlight was not working and after a bit of checking found it went out when the HID's were switched on.
Coming back from Brisbane to Toowoomba last night not using the driving lights, the R/F headlight would go out intermittantly.
Has anyone struck this before? Do they have a thermal switch in them?. I have had the assembly out and can't see anything out of the ordinary, no burnt terminals at the plug or anything else out of the ordinary.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Les

I would say its the wiring for the spotlight trigger, refit the original plug and see if that cures it then work on finding where the fault in the adapter loom is.
I have an LED bar on my D1 and had the same problem with the RH light which i pinned down to the adapter loom, a wiggle of the plug confirmed it.

Thanks guys,
I will rework the wiring over the weekend, and then start installing the Traxide DBS and the Electric brakes for my caravan.
